Please allow me to introduce myself! My name is Cerise and I have a plus size avatar in the virtual world of Second Life. Here is a little bit of information about me and my Second Life journey.

Over my 15 or so years in SL, I have explored every possible option I can think of to create a realistic and well made plus size avatar. Sadly, Second Life seems slightly adverse to having chubby avatars running around so my options have always been quite limited. That being said, I have steadily been using Piggu June for the last few years in my pursuit of plus size SL domination 😋 

I have always wanted to make a curvy avatar in SL that is very much like my real life self. This was especially difficult in the time before mesh appeared. Having an accurate representation of my RL body in SL has boosted my confidence and has enabled me to make solid and meaningful friendships with people who share the same values and visions for the future of Second Life. I firmly believe that diversity in SL could still be improved and that no body type should be shamed or not catered for. Outside of Second Life, I am by no means a Victoria's Secret model and have more lumps and bumps than a road that needs resurfacing! 

My Second Life journey has evolved over the years, redirecting my focus on being creative rather than ploughing money into my wardrobe for clothes that simply do not work well for my avatar. Being a clothing designer has had its ups and downs but I have made quite a few items that I am extremely proud of! Given that my avatar isn’t widely catered for and not mainstream as is the likes of Maitreya, Belleza, eBody, etc, I have had to find ways to adapt clothing available in SL and put my own spin on it. I have been able to do this by using BOM/System Layers and even old-fashioned flexi prims to spice up my wardrobe, bringing a whole new look to an otherwise lesser known brand.
